and the Heart Attack
"Jack Mack have been LA's leading proponent of Rock'n'Soul music for a long time."-- Glenn Frey
Jack Mack and the Heart Attack are proud to announce their twentieth anniversary. Described as "extraordinary musicians and dynamic performers," they continue to travel the world performing concerts, major corporate events, as well as festivals and the world's most outrageous private affairs. Their individual style of high energy R&B /Soul music has garnered an ever expanding and loyal following.
The band's first recording, CARDIAC PARTY was produced by the legendary Glenn Frey of the Eagles. This album continues to be a cult favorite the world over. This follow up project, titled JACK IT UP, features an unmistakable rendition of the classic, 'A Whiter Shade of Pale', and includes performances by some surprise guest artists.
Original Jack Mack members John Paruolo (keyboards), Andrew Kastner (guitars), and Bill Bergman (saxophone) have sought out the best musicians to add to their distinctive sound. Joining founding members are bassist/vocalist Tim Scott, who has performed with Tower of Power, Etta James, Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder and drummer Les Falconer, who has recorded and performed with the O'Jays, Toni Braxton, Johnny "Guitar" Watson and Jody Watley. Rounding out the band are trumpeter Les Lovitt, who has recorded and toured with Woody Herman and Brian Setzer, and vocalist Mark Campbell, lead singer for Jack Mack throughout the mid 80's and early 90's, returning to the lineup and bringing his powerful blue-eyed soul vocals styles back to the band.
While Jack Mack and the Heart Attack has found a permanent place in the hearts of R&B fans the world over, their name found its way into the history books with their performances at Atlanta's Centennial Park during the 1996 Summer Olympic games. An unexpected event occurred that shocked the world and cut short one of the most exciting and fulfilling engagements of their storied career. Jack Mack has dedicated ARRHYTHMIA to the memory of the Atlanta bombing victim.
Throughout shifting musical trends, the Jack Mack focus has prevailed, their music remaining true to American Rhythm & Blues and Soul. The band maintains their commitment to writing and recording new songs, and their legendary groove-til-you-sweat, dance-til-you-drop performances continue to thrill and delight audiences.
Jack Mack and the Heart Attack is looking forward to the new Millennium and the opportunities that await with both new fans and the new media.
