Familiar to Strokeland fans as an original member of Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Bill Bergman is no stranger to the music scene. Recording with groups as diverse as Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Stevie Wonder, Motorhead, and No Doubt, and adding a deep jazz sensibility allows Bill to bring a mature musicality to whatever genre he tackles.

As a founding member of the popular soul band Jack Mack & The Heart Attack, and known for his legendary solo on Glenn Frey’s "You Belong To The City”, the Kansas City-bred saxman became a fixture in the Quiet Storm/Contemporary jazz format with both Midnight Sax (which Jazziz Magazine later named one of the ten most influential smooth jazz albums of all time) and its popular follow-up: Bill Bergman and The Metro Jets.

No stranger to contemporary jazz, Bill Bergman hits the streets with a new collection of grooves entitled Universe Soul, featuring a seasoned group of musicians including Grant Geissman (Chuck Mangione, David Benoit), Kat Dyson (Prince), Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets), Robben Ford (Miles Davis, George Harrison) and many more.

Produced by Bill Bergman and Eddie King, Universe Soul features Bill's trademark fat tenor sax and explores a range of moods. A fresh treatment of the classic "Girl From Ipanema" breathes new life into that standard. "Sunday Mornin'" brings the legendary Robben Ford's guitar together with some great sax work.

In addition to his fine work with Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Bergman's discography includes recordings with Bonnie Raitt, Glenn Frey, Neil Diamond, Billy Preston, War, Paul Barrere (Little Feat), Tom Petty, No Doubt, and many more.

With a wonderful saxophone tone, solid arrangements, and a great collection of grooves by this all-star lineup of musicians, Bill Bergman's Universe Soul is sure to make a mark in the world of comtemporary jazz.
